Petfood Forum Europe 2022 has its biggest attendance

Pet food professionals gathered from 30 countries

For the first time in almost three years, Petfood Forum Europe was hosted in Nuremberg, Germany, on May 23, 2022. The one-day conference, co-located with Interzoo 2022, was the most well-attended edition of Petfood Forum Europe ever, attracting pet food professionals from 30 countries including Belgium, Denmark, France, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States and others.

Petfood Forum Europe provided an opportunity for industry peers from around the world to network, exchange ideas and conduct business as the conference returned as an in-person event this year.

“After almost three years of limited travel and in-person business opportunities, this year’s conference provided the ability for the European and global pet food industry to collaborate on new ideas, conduct important business deals and build relationships,” said Steve Akins, executive vice president, global petfood and events with WATT Global Media. “The strategies and expertise shared among speakers and participants will spark innovation, research and development that will greatly impact the industry in the future.”

Speakers provided the latest research on insect protein, omega-3 fatty acids and potato fiber; a new look at in-home testing protocols; safety challenges of novel pet food ingredients; and the sustainability benefits of using a circular model for wet pet food processing and mix packs or multi packs for packaging.

Petfood Forum Europe was made possible thanks to event sponsors: Aker Biomarine, AM Nutrition, Avebe, Barentz, Bell, Biorigin, Darling, Extru-Tech Inc., GEA, Jorgensen Engineering, Kerry, Middleby Food Processing, Prinova, Protix, Reading Bakery Systems, Schenck Process and Wenger.

Petfood Forum Europe was co-located with Interzoo, which took place May 24-27. Interzoo is the world’s biggest marketing platform for the international pet industry. Interzoo 2022 attracted 28,000 trade visitors from 129 countries and 1,329 exhibitors from 59 countries.

“We are very happy and grateful that we were able to offer the international pet industry an extraordinarily successful platform with Interzoo despite the difficult framework conditions,” comments Gordon Bonnet, managing director of WZF and the German Pet Trade and Industry Association ZZF as the honorary sponsor.
